Hi, I’m Calling From Phone-in Land

I don’t think the manager’s got the passion of the players and it’s all wrong the form what about the formation and why play him on the left and then leave him on the bench disgrace to be honest with you best players in the world I’m very very worried pub side and the fans have a right to boo of course Gerrard on a million pound a week and play him on the left play for the shirt and what can you expect commitment but what about change things radically and where are the leaders the four four two and the fear I’m worried to be honest Slovenia on Wednesday doesn’t bear thing about. I’m very very worried.

I never quite understand why they can’t be coached to be comfortable in possession; or rather, watching any kids or Sunday match (Get Rid!) I can. Until the basic love of the ball (‘Here it is, it’s round, treat it as your friend’ – Brian Clough) is mastered we’ve had it. Algeria protected the ball a lot betterer than us.

The Manager’s already blamed the ball ergo best not to have too much to do with it in a game just in case it all goes egg-shaped…

And, I hardly think it is actually possible, they hate FC more than me. Did you hear James’ “Did he” statement. That was filled with fear and loathing for my money.

  2. Stephen Foster says:

That would be the first interpretation I’d make, but James is a bit of a weirdo who only believes that art is good if it’s an observable fact that no ruler has been used (I saw him say this on telly, in a gallery) so I think he might just have been being stroppy/&weird too.

There’s definitely a lot wrong there though, and it’s a mystery to know what’s happening after FC (who I sort of like) visibly restored confidence post-McClaren; winning 9/10 in qualifying can’t be a fluke.

Isn’t qualifying a bit like a series of intermittent but good performances.

Now they have to put it all together under pressure. He is bad for them because he is not thinking about what makes them tick, he is thinking about imposing what has worked for him before.

The stubborn clinging to the 4 4 2 is evidence of this.

They would do better if they locked him in a broom cupboard, threw away the key and sorted themselves out. You know he sends them to bed at 11!!!

  4. Stephen Foster says:

11.00! Bring back Sven and the dancing girls!

  5. makemeadiva says:

Precisely, they’re all as miserable as sin. There’s no craic, no joking about, sitting up straight in your fecking uniform at mealtimes and going to bed before you turn into a pumpkin: everything that makes a team tick.

My only consolation is that Theo will be glad to have been left out now.

Your first paragraph is like a piece from valiantitis and it looks like only a brooker awag explosion can do anything to lift this bunch of no hopers who don’t know their arses from their elbows and who have a manger who doesn’t know his arse from his elbows but he does because he got us through the prelim stage without a problem but he’s lost it now like the players have because they don’t like playing like pulis does and its no good because they don’t know what they’re doing and roony doesn’t sing the national anthem and he thinks he’s too good be an englishman and he hates the royal family because he’s not really an englishman because he comes from good irish stock who hate the english but he deosn’t realise that his manager is an eytie who doesn’t give a damn about all that stuff.

Apart from that we aren’t very good but its no good booing because that doesn’t help the players even though they play like shit even when they’re not really shit because we know they can play better and if they had a ricky fuller they would be ok and win the world cup.

    GGOS. 😉

  7. Stephen Foster says:

Ricardo would win the World Cup on his own : )
