Machine machine machine

I’m tempted to put it on again so that Old Stokie can blow a gasket, but I’ll desist; the title of this post serves merely to introduce this little gem that I’ve just picked up from one of my football messageboards where last night’s television is being dissembled. It’s the first time I’ve ever heard of a Good Bit from twitter:

Reading the comments on twitter as the debate was going on was most amusing. Funniest by a country mile was ‘worst Kraftwerk gig ever.’

    Just for you winger.

I liked the way the colours at the back were arranged in such a way that each leader was framed by his party’s colour. You may know some sort of arty trchnical term for this arrangement. The fact this was the lasting impression it left probably says a lot about the programmes.

What are the Lib Dems policies as Clegg came out of it by far the bestest! If his policies don’t include giving money to poor people and taking it off the rich i might vote for him, that and the fact voting conservative would lead to a ban from this blog! 😀

  2. chiffs says:

If they were dogs, what breed would they be?

  3. OS says:

I thought the program was utter, utter shyte. Cleggy pushed a few buttons, but other than that, it was shyte. Gordon is out of his depth as a true leader and Cameroon is a political hyena.

ChiffS: I can’t think of a breed they would be individually, but I’ve seen more honest Portuguese pack dogs than them lot.

    Ugh!!!

    GGOS.

Not quite Kraftwerk but here’s a video a mate made some time ago featuring Gordon Brown on his Roland banging out some Acid House…

  5. Stephen Foster says:

You’ve inspired me to modernise the original post by inserting a slideshow there (my blog friend makemeadiva has learned me how to do eet).

In Norwich they say only the Lib Dems can defeat Charlie ‘Fat Boy Slim’ Clark. What shall I do?

  6. AndyP says:

Who is saying only the Lib Dems can defeat Clark? The Lib Dems perchance? A classic tactic of their Focus newsletter. “The {insert party} cannot win here. Only the Lib Dems can defeat {insert politician / party}” says the headline. Actual result? Third place for the Lib Dems, and the party that cannot win, er win.

Do what you think is best for Norwich and your family.

  7. Stephen Foster says:

Well yes, funily enough it is them : )

I imagine they’re working on last time’s figures:

    Lab Fat Boy Slim: 15,000
Lib Dem New Leader is Ace: 12,000
    Toff Boy Cons: 3,000
    Green and Pleasant Land: 2,000

    (or somewhere abouts)

  8. markelt says:

What about the in no way racists?

  9. Stephen Foster says:

The Tories are in there blindy: Toff Boy Cons: 3,000

  10. OS says:

Swiss has called me a racist tonight so we had a blazing row. 🙂

    The cause? An election leaflet.

Dr Ali and Sadaquat Maqsoom, Lib Dem candidates, said in said leaflet that, and I quote: ‘Parking is a major concern in Longton South. Which is caused by inconsiderate parking.’

I had the temerity to say: *’They need to sort their own lot out first.’*

*This comment was made because the parents from the Asian community park indiscriminately by the school causing a danger to the children and even includes parking on the zig-zag lines immediately outside the school gates and no matter how many times they are told, they ignore everyone.*

    Swiss: You can’t say that!

    Me: Why not? It’s true!

Swiss: Just beacuse they have Asian names doesn’t mean they’re Asian.

Me: Well they’re not bloody Icelandic!

Swiss: Pops. I can’t believe you sometimes.

I called him a politically correct lunatic and he called me a racist. It went downhill from there. 🙂

    *snigger.

  11. OS says:

NB: Swiss’s final throw away remark as I was being chucked out: See what Elt says. He’ll put you right.

    GGOS. 🙂

  12. Stephen Foster says:

‘Parking is a major concern in Longton South. Which is caused by inconsiderate parking.’

They want to sort out their syntax and the structure of their argument before they try a three point u turn, that’s for sure.

‘Parking is a major concern in Longton South. Which is caused by the price of fish.

Have you forgotten to take your pills today btw 😉

  13. markelt says:

I think it’s a potentially rascist* comment because you’re implying that there’s some sort of link between their ethnicity – if you believe in that – and their parking. You would know if you went on my school run that the most selfish drivers are middle class white women in Chelsea Tractors dropping the kids off on the way to the gym. If they were allowed, I swear they’d drive across a playground full of kids to minimise the inconvenience of having to walk an extra 20 yards.

Anyway I don’t hold it against you because I accept there is no real malice in your casual racism. 🙂

  14. AndyP says:

Vintage Lib Dems, seen it so many times before. Using a result from 5 years ago which does not take into account the current situation. In this case Green councillors that have been elected in Norwich since then making them the second largest group on the council. In a spot of two can play that game, 😉 here’s Mr Ramsay’s view:
