No laughing matter

Having managed to over commit myself by one whole book too far in a twelve month period, I am officially on my holidays as of now. The proofs were signed off on Monday just gone, it comes out on September 3rd. I dig the jacket, it does the job well, I think.

    I agree, the perfect jacket.

I agree with Calvin…the perfect jacket. It has all the right things in all the right places and the contrasts are superb. Bravo.

    Ditto also HBTY xxx

  4. PaniniPete says:

I think the trajectory is out.

  5. OS says:

PP, I do believe you are right. Following that line would have the ball landing about ten yards from where Delap is standing. I think we need a scientific analysys here. Delapping is an exact science which, like most things, is beyond my mental capacities, so I’l leave it to proper interlectewals.

  6. johnnyneptune says:

you should have had richard creswell on the cover

  7. Stephen Foster says:

The trajectory is fine for artistical merit, but PP is right to suggest that it does not accurately describe the flight path of the perfect Delapidator, which is a lot flatter. However, he Delaps about three mediocre arcs to each proper scud.

    Richard CresSwell, neptyune.

All the best with the book. I hope it inspires others to write like ‘SSTL’ did with me. Sadly, I won’t be able to read about how poor Coventry are as it will only feature elitist fixtures and not lower league dross served up at The Ricoh and Carrow Road…cheers!

  9. AndyP says:

Winger – as one of your proof-readers I can safely say you are in NO position to lecture people on the spelling of Cresswell!! 😉

    Great cover.

  10. Stephen Foster says:

Neptyune is in your club 😉

  11. PaniniPete says:

Is there a Perry in the house?

  12. raf says:

I’m horrified that TP is not on the front cover you PHW!

  13. Stephen Foster says:

That ball becomes a grenade and blows his head off on the back cover :–)

  14. AndyP says:

    If only…

  15. Rhodesy says:

Still haven’t read she stood there laughing! I found a spelling mistake in Along Came Dylan which I bought from WHSmith and read on holiday! Keep up the good work!

  16. Stephen Foster says:

What spelling mistayke was that Rhodesy?

Wait ’til the forthcoming ‘And She Laughed No More’ – your Old man’s got a bit in it that’s absloutely full of b*@@*s and errors ;–)

  17. Rhodesy says:

I know yeah. It’s the Sunderland game. He finished writing it and then I reminded him about some extra things from the Sunderland fans that would be good for the book and he just went “Oh yeah shit forgot that that would be quite good” 😀 (I can tell how useless his few pages are gonna be). Can’t wait to see how much you put down Pulis and your justification of still hating Pulis was most amusing.
