He’s a bit lively

after four weeks lead-only exercise while the gash on his groin healed, followed immediately by five weeks with this broken ankle bone. He goes for a check-up X-ray in a few days’ time. That ought to give the all clear considering that he can turn the distance between the front door and the bottom of the stairs into a race track. He reminds me of my younger brother, Bumble: when he was a kid you’d often see him climbing a tree using just his good arm, the other being in a plaster-cast from an earlier accident, and then he’d have a bandage wrapped round his head from another, different, unrelated, earlier accident, too.

It is so good to see him outside again….or just see him again. I hope all is healed and well now. I’ve been a bit concerned about him, and have deeply missed your wonderful photos of Lemon and Dylan. Btw, how’s Dylan doing? I’ve missed him too. We are considering getting another lurcher pal for Drzl. I think she misses being with another lurcher at times. She gets my husband to play with her like a lurcher would, standing up and “boxing.” Do you regret ever having two high energy dogs? I hope we make the right decision. Blessings to dear Lemon….and all of you.

I don’t regret it Patty, either Dylan joining Ollie, or Lemon joining Dylan. I could live without the injuries though…

In my experience the host dog always resents the interloper for a bit, and it certainly causes trouble, but on the other hand it generates at least an equal amount of joy. Seeing them run together is more than worth it.

I agree with Patty (but then i would), lovely to see pics of the boys.

Hope all goes well with the x rays and could they give him some ‘downers’ while you are there

Tranquillizers. Why didn’t I think of that?

Actually, he isn’t so bad at all most of the time, after all, he is a lurcher : sleeping is what he does best…

“sleeping is what he does best…”

No, catching flies is what he does best. He should be called Venus flytrap ; )

  6. Patty says:

chiffs, is that “Venus Flytrap” as in the comedian who played the role of a DJ by that name in the hit series “WKRP in Cincinnati?” This was during the late 1970s and was hysterically funny, imo!

Have a look and see what you think! 🙂
