It’s the Lord Mayor’s Street Procession tonight

for one night only the Notting Hill Carnival comes to Norwich, with steel bands on floats, a Chinese Dragon made up of local school children and a firework display at the end. I find the enforced jollity of it all slightly unbearable and usually give it as miss. They were going to have Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in the procession but the council, in one of their traditional Loony Council moments banned it as it ‘didn’t have a valid MOT, yor honour.’ Instead, to continue the photojournalism week, here is:

    The logo of the knife-wielding smiley man disturbes me slightly.
    And the writer of that newspaper article got a gift of a title.

    Yes, he is a disturbing logo. I don’t actually use that butcher, I use the one who has an old-fashioned bike with a basket on the front for his delivery truck…

    I wish we still had butchers, or milkmen….they caught the last train for the coast.
