Monument on the ultra-protected list

For three years post-9/11 the Statue of Liberty was shut down to visitors, apparently. You can visit now, but not go up inside. We missed the last trip on the day we walked down there: this is taken from the Staten Island Ferry which goes every half hour free of charge and is full of hard-boiled cases.

  1. It’s a long time since I have thought about my 1970’s visit to that green lady in the sea. Thanks for reminding me. There was a crack in the arm and so we were only allowed to climb the stairs as far as the crown.
The Daily Wail website says your man Pulis is as “safe as houses” in his job and reckons Fat Sam’s Rovers will finish 4th from bottom; but that’s good enough, the say.

  2. AndyP says:

Almost as impressive as Pulis’ Column in Brussels 😉

  3. Stephen Foster says:

Our chairman will never sack Pulis gwilym : he is his Mini Me.
